Key Requirements
- Eligible applicants: Individual entrepreneurs, proprietors, partnerships, NGOs, trusts, societies, charitable hospitals/institutions, and certain government agencies.
- Pharmacist: You must be a D.Pharm/B.Pharm holder or employ a qualified D.Pharm/B.Pharm pharmacist.
- Shop: Minimum 120 sq. ft. of space is required, owned or leased with appropriate documentation.
- Location: Preferably in or near a hospital, or otherwise a location with good visibility, accessibility and footfall.
- Documents: Generally include PAN/Aadhaar, pharmacist details and registration, premises/lease documents, and financial-capacity documents such as ITR/bank statements.
- Drug licence: A drug licence in the name of the Jan Aushadhi Kendra is required.

About Jan Aushadhi Kendra
प्रधानमंत्री भारतीय जन औषधि केंद्र (Jan Aushadhi Kendra) भारत सरकार की प्रधानमंत्री भारतीय जन औषधि परियोजना (PMBJP) के अंतर्गत संचालित एक पहल है। इसका उद्देश्य सभी नागरिकों को उच्च गुणवत्ता वाली जेनेरिक दवाइयाँ किफायती कीमतों पर उपलब्ध कराना है।
जन औषधि केंद्रों पर उपलब्ध दवाइयाँ गुणवत्ता मानकों के अनुसार परीक्षण की जाती हैं और सामान्य बाज़ार में मिलने वाली ब्रांडेड दवाइयों की तुलना में 50% से 90% तक कम कीमत पर उपलब्ध हो सकती हैं। इसके अलावा, कई सर्जिकल एवं स्वास्थ्य संबंधी उत्पाद भी उपलब्ध कराए जाते हैं।
इस योजना का संचालन Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) द्वारा किया जाता है। इसका उद्देश्य स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को अधिक सुलभ बनाना, लोगों में जेनेरिक दवाओं के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाना तथा उद्यमियों के लिए स्वरोज़गार के अवसर प्रदान करना है।

Not – Pay the ₹5,000 non-refundable application fee. This fee is waived for eligible categories such as women entrepreneurs, SC/ST, Divyang, Ex-servicemen, entrepreneurs from aspirational districts, Himalayan states, North-Eastern states, and island territories.
